Task #5


Portfolio task #5

  Two figures are shown. The given line graph illustrates information about the number of overseas visitors to Australia between 1975 and 2005, in millions of people. The second is a table that represents the number of visitors to Australia in millions of people. The piece of writing will analyse the important information.

                                     Firstly, according to the line graph there were 5 million more visitors to Australia in 1985 than in 1975. From 1985 to 1995 the number of visitors to Australia by overseas residents increased dramatically from about 15 to 24 respectively. In2005 the number of visitors went up to reach about 30 million people.

                                    Secondly, the table shows the countries who visited Australia. The biggest number of visitors to Australia came from Japan from 1975 to 2005, about 3.2 to 12.0 million of people respectively. Following this country was South Korea, Europe and Britain.

                                  In conclusion, the number of visitors from different countries who went to Australia increased dramatically every year. Japanese people made up the highest percentage of people who went to Australia.
